Hello Friends,

We are social networking whores and we all know that indie film and indie music play a huge part in their marketing on these Twitters, Facebooks, and “add me” sites. Well the new one we are ADDICTED to is Blip.fm and we will be putting on twist on the site. For those who are not familiar with BLIP.FM, think of it as a TWITTER, and you use the music to tell the TWEET. You get 140 characters plus a link to a song you can search on their site. BRILLIANT!

What Before You Submit will be doing is indie film reviews, a rating, and a song added for your listening pleasure. We’d love to have you join, and we’ll join you any day as well. Try this Twitter with an amazing additional twist to it. BRILLIANT!

Enjoy!

One of the biggest questions we get at film festivals is the cost of music and where is the best place to grab music for their films for free. Well, HERE YA GO!! FREE MUSIC ARCHIVE opens it’s url address bar to the public finally and there you can find artists and music for your films. Form the site in their “About:” section of the site…

“The Free Music Archive is an interactive library of high-quality, legal audio downloads. The Free Music Archive is being directed by WFMU, the most renowned freeform radio station in America. Radio has always offered the public free access to new music. The Free Music Archive is a continuation of that purpose, designed for the age of the internet.”

Before You Submit has a new PODCAST launching soon, and I think we found our music. Not to worry, we will still be doing the “Festival Tips” one again, very soon.

For many indie filmmakers or music fans, if asked “When you think of Liverpool, you think of?”…Answer is simple and you probably pondered “the Beatles” as you read that. For many, The Beatles most popular album is “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, and the opening line from Paul McCartney is “It was 20 years ago today…” and for the city of Liverpool…today it has a totally different meaning to it.

This morning the headlines in Liverpool read “20 Years Ago Today…” and it’s a tragic day for friends, family and fans worldwide who support Liverpool Football Club. 20 years ago 96 fans lost their lives at the Hillsborough Football Stadium. The stadium was the playing grounds for Sheffield Wednesday, but it was Nottingham Forrest the boys in “red” we’re playing in 1989 for a FA-Cup semi-final game. This is still the most deadliest sporting event to happen in British Football and our hearts go out to the families, and those who love Liverpool.

It was “20 Hours Ago” where we watched Chelsea Football Club eliminate Liverpool in the Quarter-Finals of the Champions League, and it was the hardest and most heart driven match I have seen our boys play in awhile. The 14 boys who played yesterday all helped score four goals against Chelsea at their home, and made many Liverpool fans proud to wear that Carlsberg across the chest and the Liverpool Crest close to their hearts. Fantastic match, and wish we could have played Chelsea at home next for a win to move into the next round.

Thanks to the friends who posted about Hillsborough and please check out Tom Hall’s blog with two videos about the disaster, also our love and passion that we all sing EVERY TIME our boys step onto the pitch.
